Description

Deliciously crispy on the outside and soft inside, these keto arepas are made with almond flour and cheese, perfect for various fillings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: spices or herbs as desired

Instructions

  1. Mix almond flour, cheese, egg, baking powder, and salt in a bowl until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball, and slightly flatten them to form discs.
  3. Heat a pan over medium heat and fry the arepas for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Fill with cheese, meat, or vegetables as desired.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

For a crunchier texture, bake in the oven at 180°C for about 15-20 minutes instead of frying.
