Description

A simple yet delightful dessert that captures the essence of summer with juicy peaches and a buttery, crispy topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 package vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup water
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease your baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Combine the sliced peaches with sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl and spread this mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the peaches to form a uniform layer.
  4. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, making sure it is well saturated.
  5. Add the water on top without stirring to allow the liquid to penetrate during baking.
  6. Bake the cake for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the aroma fills the kitchen.
  7. Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving it warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Prepare peaches a day ahead and refrigerate to enhance caramelization. This dessert pairs well with fresh mint or whipped cream.
